    Wirksworth Well Dressings

    10:00 amWirksworth

Well dressing is an old Derbyshire custom, still celebrated in the Peak District, in which springs and wells are decorated with panels worked in flower petals and other natural materials to form a design.  The well dressing are in place for a week and on Saturday 27th a  parade take place through the village lead by the BMW Brass Band blessing all the wells and there is a Dedication at St Mary’s Church.   The first well to be blessed is inside the churchyard so that’s where the Blessings begin.  Band to meet at St Marys at 10am.
